N° 01 — What we install

Six things we do, and do properly.

We don't sell twenty products. We install the handful that actually make sense at altitude on the Front Range — and we put our own hands on every one.

Residential rooftop solar project photo Homes & townhomes

Service 01

Residential rooftop solar

A system sized to your last twelve months of CORE or Xcel bills — not to a quota. We lay out every module around vents, chimneys and fire setbacks, pick hail-rated panels with all-black frames that look at home on a Castle Rock subdivision roof, and flash every penetration so the roof stays dry for the next twenty-five winters.

  • Shade & production modeling for your exact roof planes
  • Class 4 hail-rated modules, microinverters or optimizers
  • Flashed, sealed attachments and tidy conduit runs

Ground-mount and acreage arrays project photo Ranches & acreage

Service 02

Ground-mount & acreage arrays

Got ten acres off Perry Park Road and a roof that faces the wrong way? A ground-mount lets us aim panels due south at the right tilt, keep them clear of drifting snow and hail-shed debris, and trench power back to the house, barn or well pump — with frost-depth footings engineered for Douglas County soils.

  • Helical-pile or concrete footings, engineered for wind & snow load
  • Trenching, conduit and sub-panels to barns, shops and wells
  • Elevated racking that sheds snow and keeps grazing clear

Battery storage and outage backup project photo Backup power

Service 03

Battery storage & outage backup

Spring snowstorms and summer wildfire shutoffs both cut power out here. We pair your array with a home battery, wire a protected-loads panel for the things that matter — furnace blower, well pump, fridge, internet — and set it up so the house keeps running quietly while the grid sorts itself out.

  • Load audit to decide whole-home vs. essential-circuits backup
  • Battery placement rated for garage temperatures at altitude
  • Retrofit-ready: we add storage to existing solar systems too

Commercial and agricultural solar project photo Businesses & farms

Service 04

Commercial & agricultural solar

Shops, offices, veterinary clinics, churches and equine barns with daytime loads are where solar pays back fastest. We handle structural review, utility interconnection paperwork and demand-charge analysis, and we schedule the install around your operating hours so the doors stay open.

  • Rooftop, carport and ground-mount options for 10–250 kW
  • Demand-charge and rate-schedule analysis before design
  • Work scheduled around hours of operation and livestock

EV charger integration project photo EV owners

Service 05

EV charger integration

A Level 2 charger in the garage turns your driveway into your cheapest fuel station. We size the circuit, check whether your service panel can carry it, and set the charger to soak up midday solar or off-peak hours — whichever saves you more on your rate plan.

  • Load calculation and dedicated 40–60 A circuit
  • Solar-aware or time-of-use smart charging setup
  • Indoor or outdoor mounting rated for Colorado cold

Monitoring, maintenance and repairs project photo Existing systems

Service 06

Monitoring, maintenance & repairs

We watch the systems we build — and fix the ones others left behind. If production dips after a hailstorm, an inverter throws a fault, or the company that sold you solar went out of business, we diagnose it, file the warranty claim where one applies, and get your array back to full output.

  • Remote monitoring with alerts when output drops
  • Post-hail inspections with photo reports for insurers
  • Inverter swaps, rewiring and orphaned-system takeovers

Also on the work order.

Smaller jobs we take on for new and existing clients — often bundled into a bigger install, always available on their own.

  • Main panel upgrades

100 A to 200 A service upgrades when your panel can't take solar plus a charger.

  • Remove & reinstall

Panels lifted and re-set cleanly when it's time for a new roof.

  • Snow guards

Rails that stop sheets of snow sliding off panels onto decks and doorways.

  • Critter guard

Stainless mesh to keep pigeons and squirrels from nesting under arrays.

  • HOA & permit handling

Drawings, HOA submittals and Douglas County permits — done for you.

  • Second-opinion audits

Got a quote from a big national? We'll review it and tell you honestly.

  • Panel cleaning

Spring dust and pollen washed off with deionized water, no harsh brushes.

  • Inverter replacement

Aging string inverters swapped for modern, monitored hardware.

N° 02 — How it works

From first call to first kilowatt.

No high-pressure kitchen-table pitch. Five steps, each with a clear owner and a realistic timeline — and you can stop after any of them.

Start with step one
  1. 1

    Call & satellite pre-check

We talk through your bills, goals and any HOA rules, then run a satellite shade and roof-pitch check before anyone drives out.

    Same week
  2. 2

    On-site visit

Jesse or Marcus walks the roof or land, inspects the electrical panel, measures, and photographs everything the design will depend on.

    About 90 minutes
  3. 3

    Custom design & proposal

You receive a layout drawing, a month-by-month production estimate and an itemized proposal — then we walk through it with you, line by line, with time to ask questions.

    5–7 business days
  4. 4

    Permits & interconnection

We file with Douglas County (or your jurisdiction), your HOA if you have one, and CORE Electric or Xcel Energy for net-metering approval.

    3–6 weeks
  5. 5

    Install, inspect, power on

Our own crew installs — usually in one to three days — passes final inspection, waits for permission to operate, then switches you on and sets up monitoring on your phone.

    1–3 days on site

Not happy with your design or proposal? Tell us within 7 days — we fix it.

If what we deliver doesn't match what we agreed, we revise it — and where revisions don't get it right, you may qualify for a partial refund under our written policy.

N° 03 — Why local

Venttara vs. a typical door-to-door solar outfit.

If someone has knocked on your door offering "free solar," this is the comparison worth making before you sign anything.

N° 04 — Before you ask

Straight answers to fair questions.

Can't find yours? Call (303) 995-0978 — Jesse picks up, or calls back the same day.

Every quote is custom. We size the system from your last 12 months of electric usage, your roof or land, and your goals (offsetting bills, backup power, charging an EV). You'll get an itemized proposal after the site visit — no packages, no pressure. See everything we install.

Twelve months of electric bills (CORE or Xcel online accounts are fine), the approximate age of your roof, a photo of your main electrical panel, and any HOA guidelines you have. That's enough for the satellite pre-check.

We specify modules rated to the highest hail-impact class and racking engineered for local snow and wind loads. If a storm does damage something, we inspect and document it for your insurer.

Tell us in writing within 7 days of delivery and we'll revise it, or work out a partial refund where the policy allows. The full terms are in our Refund Policy.

Typically six to ten weeks. The install itself is one to three days; most of the time goes to county permitting and utility interconnection approval, which we handle for you.

Yes. Revisions to your layout and proposal are part of the process — up to five rounds before you sign off in writing. Most clients settle on a design within one or two.

Not with solar alone — grid-tied systems shut off during outages for line-worker safety. Adding a battery lets you keep essential circuits, or the whole home, running.

N° 05 — Who we are

Built in Larkspur, for the Front Range.

Venttara started in 2017 with one truck, one ladder and a frustration. Jesse Stubbs had spent years watching neighbors in Larkspur and Castle Rock sign twenty-five-year contracts with companies that sent a salesman, a subcontracted crew, and then never answered the phone again. He figured the Front Range deserved an installer that would still be around.

Our approach is unglamorous on purpose. We size systems to your real usage, not a sales target. We pick equipment for hail, heavy spring snow and ultraviolet at altitude. We flash every roof penetration as if it were our own house, and we tell you plainly when solar isn't worth it — a shaded north roof, a home you'll sell next year.

Everything runs out of 7411 Cameron Dr in Larkspur: design, permitting, scheduling and the warehouse. That means when a storm rolls off Pikes Peak and something looks wrong on your monitoring app, the person who installed your system is usually twenty minutes away, not two time zones.

Nine years in, most of our work comes from referrals — ranchers telling neighbors, business owners telling customers. We'd like to keep it that way.
